It doesn't look that impressive, I'll admit, but each coloured stripe is being generated by a different process (running across two different machines), and it's animated.
This is an attempt to write some graphics output software for the TUNA cluster.
azz: Heh -- although I would have said "reel of tape"...
David: Well, almost. It loses details just as it hits the A419 (which is a hop, skip and a jump from me)

As is pretty much everywhere I've lived or would recognise, in fact.
Aside from the South Bank, which makes no visual sense to me; it appears to be upside down because of the satellite's viewpoint.
