Dunno. I don't think we import much oil from the US (and it's their oil fields that are affected here, obviously), but global oil prices tend to be connected.
The sooner we can wean Americans off their ridiculously overpowered cars -- and the world off oil in the general -- the better, of course.
azz: I hadn't been following the news, so I didn't realise quite how bad the situation in New Orleans was, but -- wow. It looks like the city's essentially been destroyed outright.
