Ever wonder what happens to Amazon returns?
Turns out they sell them through the Marketplace mechanism.
"Warehouse Deals is a trading name of Amazon.com Int.l Sales, Inc., and is part of the Amazon.com Group. We offer overstock, returns and slightly damaged merchandise, and refurbished electronics items at reduced prices with the benefit of Amazon.co.uk fulfilment and customer service."
It's quite interesting looking at the list of all items sorted by price -- how do they decide that "The Essential Spike Milligan" is worth 3p, but "Five Children and It" is 6p? The mind boggles.
Anyway, worth a browse around. Having just bought a CD from there (for a silly price, given the only damage is an inch-long crack in the case), it appears they use Amazon's regular packaging, which is a distinct improvement (especially for books) over most Marketplace sellers.
