"Here are the full results of the British Hit Singles and Albums and NME.com survey to find the greatest 100 albums of all time"
These lists are always a bit disappointing, but this one's particularly uninspiring.
I think in almost every case here where I've heard the albums in question for a band, I'd disagree with the ordering they've been given.
The Led Zeppelin albums here are particularly weird. I guess LZ4 is the highest because it's got "Stairway to Heaven" on, but I think "Physical Graffiti" (which is down near the bottom) is a much stronger album, and "The Song Remains The Same" even more so.
The Eagles' "Hotel Calfornia" sneaks in at 100, despite one of their Greatest Hits collections being the highest-selling album ever (and, I think, a better album than "Hotel California" is).
In general, there seems to have been a tendency here to pick based on singles and to avoid best-of compilations.
Don't tell me what you want, what you really really want, I wanna I wanna I really really waana top one hundred album
