"Doctor Who's success around the world continues, with the news that the programme will soon be showing on Japanese television."
Or "dokutaa fuu", as the katakana says.
It strikes me that dubbing Doctor Who into Japanese is going to present some really interesting challenges.
Such as: what's the Japanese for "chav"?
And wouldn't "Nanimono-Sensei" be a cooler title?
And is the Doctor going to be "Zah Dokutaa" (like Yomiko Readman was "Zah Paper")?
And what are the Daleks going to chant?
ats: Knife detector scheme 'a success'
"British Transport Police said 240 people were scanned as they entered Largs rail station as part of Operation Shield to combat knife crime."
"BTP Supt Ronnie Mellis said no-one was found to be carrying a knife or an offensive weapon."
So this scheme to detect knives failed, in fact, to detect any knives, and that makes it a success?
