So it appears New Scientist published a positive article on an especially wacky bit of pseudoscience last month.
A variety of the usual suspects weigh in...
Particularly striking for SF writer Greg Egan's comment that "The probability for the microwaves quantum-tunnelling out of the cavity is so astronomically tiny that you'd have to wait many orders of magnitude longer than the age of the universe for it to become relevant. It's about as helpful to Shawyer's cause as saying that the overlap of my wave function with Jupiter's vindicates astrology."
