This agrees with what I've suspected for a while -- the Xbox is not being sold at a loss.

I suspect there's an awful lot of handwaving going on with the estimated costs for the Playstation bits here, though.
I find it a bit hard to believe that the Blu-Ray drive actually costs Sony $125 to produce, for example.
We've jokingly considered asking for PS3s as workstations for new PhD students next year, since they're pretty much ideal for running process-oriented software on...
... although I don't really like the idea of funding Sony, Nvidia and Marvell very much...
And, uh. A 400W power supply? Seriously? That's absurd.
