ats: ... taking the piss out of those of us who think DRM is a bad idea. Not really very funny.
ats: Michael Chabon's original inspiration for "The Yiddish Policeman's Union".
David:
"We're sorry. Your request failed to connect to our servers. We may be experiencing technical difficulties and suggest that you try again later."
What an interesting error message
My browser connected to their server and got an error message telling me that it failed to do that.
Presumably what they mean is "We couldn't connect to our database to fetch the data you were looking for."
ats: They use a two-tiered system (like the Mirror Service does), so it's probably that it can't get at the appropriate backend machine.
David: Indeed, the phrasing was amusing though
ats: "A few days back, Australia's APC Magazine carried (only online) the absorbing tale of a Linux kernel developer named Con Kolivas; the man has quit due to what clearly are differences between the aims of the main project"
"With free and open source software, there is a way out, if Kolivas really wants to put his improvements out there and prove his point. Follow de Raadt's example and fork the project."
Uh.
Spot the BSD person completely misunderstanding the situation...
(Con Kolivas was already maintaining a separate tree. He doesn't want to do that any more.)
(And besides which, does anybody really think OpenBSD/NetBSD were better off for the fork?)
