"In fact I just used one of those expensive power cords for my system. As an experiment I decided to plug it into my kettle to boil some water to make a cup of coffee and wow what a difference this makes.
After the water boiling in record time I noticed a that the whistle sounded very clear indeed."
giggle
(This is possibly only funny if you're aware of the existence of "audiophile" power cables...)
azz:
Excellent 20s-40s jazz.
I'm curious as to how it was recorded -- it doesn't quite sound like real instruments, but I didn't think physical modelling synths had come quite that far when GF came out...
David: Yes, it is rather good ;)
azz: Oh, that'd be why I had it sitting around in my "new" directory, then.
David: he he
azz: Well, on the plus side, we're doing better than Slashdot ever did for duplicate posts... ;)
David: I don't think it is humanly possible to be worse then /. for dupes.
azz: Oh, argh, what's track 29 a parody of...
David: Every pan pipe album in the world? (Seriously, I know there is something it is very similar to, but I can't place it either)
azz: Well, it's more specifically huayno, if I recall my IB subsid music correctly...
David:
So my bag is full, naturally I remove it from the shelf its on and open the next bag
"Please replace your bag! Please replace your bag!"
Oh great. How am I going to get all my shopping through? Oh well, cross that bridge when I come to it.
"Exexpected item in the bagging area! Please remove! Unexpected item in the bagging area! Please remove!"
But you TOLD me to put it there!
Fine. I'll remove every item and start again.
"Removing item from list! Please wait for assistance!"
ARGHGHGHGH!
five minutes later I gave up waiting for assistance and queued up at a regular checkout

"esquivalience, n. the willful avoidance of one's official responsibilities"
Not in the online OED, unfortunately.
azz: ... using Javascript to turn sensible HTML into messy semi-presentational markup.
I'm not sure whether I like this or not -- it's certainly less nasty than putting lots of <div>s into your HTML to achieve the same effect, but it does mean requiring Javascript for presentation.
I suppose if the original Netscape stylesheets-in-Javascript proposal had won out this would already be a common technique.
